What I like about this article is how Richard Branson acknowledges that networking is useful not just for business generation but also for less tangible reasons. He comments “for your own well-being and the health of your business, you need to get out and about, meeting people and developing relationships”.
The main thrust of the article is about networking as a business building tool – finding the right people for new projects – rather than a customer gathering tool. Customer gathering is a huge part of networking but a lot of the other benefits are often ignored. Good to see Richard Branson recognises that.
